Boulder Psychotherapist & Psychoanalyst Maxine Gower

I am a graduate of Hunter College, New York (B.A., Summa Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa) and Hunter College Graduate School of Social Work (MSW, with Honors). I am a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Colorado with 35 years of experience.

Originally, I worked on mental health teams in Mental Health Agencies and Medical clinics in both New York and Boulder, Colorado where I serviced clients with a full range of psychological issues. Specialties include couples counseling, depression, anxiety, grief/loss, divorce, gender identity - LGBTQIA, teens and therapy with the elderly and their caregivers.

I currently offer secure Zoom and phone sessions with adolescent and adult individuals, couples and families. In addition, I supervise other therapists and social workers.

For 15 years I did post-graduate studies at the Colorado Center for Modern Psychoanalytic Studies (NCPsyA – Psychoanalyst -2010). In 2011 I was selected to be a speaker at the American Association of Psychoanalysis in Clinical Social Work annual national conference. My topic was "Revenge: Interplay of Creative and Destructive Forces" which can be viewed by clicking on the title.
